160307-EasterActionPlan

On Sunday, March 6, Pastor Rabon launched our Easter Action Plan. This plan takes us over twenty-one days to Easter Sunday. The purpose of this plan is to give us motivation and methods to invite people to our Easter services on March 27 at 10:30AM and 6:00PM.  We’re also sending out a text message reminder each morning to help us remember what the action item for each day. If you haven’t already, you can subscribe to receive these messages by texting the word BEACON to 919-809-5558.

MONDAY, MARCH 7 – SAY SOMETHING ENCOURAGING TO THREE PEOPLE

There is great power in our words. Today, let’s harness that power to encourage those in our world. Choose three people – whether they are someone you see often, only occasionally or even someone you don’t know, and make a deliberate effort to let encouragement, kindness, and generosity be on your lips when you speak to them today.

TUESDAY, MARCH 8 – ENCOURAGE SOMEONE IN WRITING

Sometimes we are good at thinking nice things about others and even saying kind things to them, but how often do we take the time to write it down? An encouraging card, email or text message can be read over and over, so it’s a gift that keeps giving. Pray and ask God to bring someone to your mind who He would love you to encourage in written words, and then make some time in your day to send them a note that will build them up.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9 – PARTICIPATE IN OUR EASTER OUTREACH

Our teens will have the opportunity to go out on teen soul winning at 3:30PM. All adults are invited to join us at 5:30PM in rooms 313 – 317. Each Adult Bible Study has been given an area to saturate with Easter invitations.

THURSDAY, MARCH 10 – SHARE A BIBLE VERSE WITH FRIENDS

God promises that His Word will never return void. Pick out a Bible verse that has helped you and share it with your friends via a face-to-face conversation, a social media post, or a text message.

FRIDAY, MARCH 11 – BE KIND TO YOUR FAMILY

For many, Friday night is “Family Night.” Today, let’s love on our families whether they are our close friends, coworkers, or the more traditional kind of family. Let’s serve one another with random acts of kindness and choose to be the greatest “cheerleaders” of those we are most familiar!

SATURDAY, MARCH 12 – LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR WITH ACTS OF KINDNESS

Today is the day to love on (or maybe just get to know!) your neighbors (your actual next door neighbors). Take in their newspaper, have a chat about their garden over the fence, offer to wash their car when you do yours, offer to do some yard work, whatever it takes to make a point of connection! Follow up by praying for them as your day draws to a close, asking God to strengthen your relationship so you can reach them with the Gospel.

SUNDAY, MARCH 13 – PRAY SPECIFICALLY

Today’s service will be the beginning of our Easter sermon series entitled, “Overcome.” Identify and pray specifically about one area of your life that you need to overcome.

MONDAY, MARCH 14 – PUT OUT A YARD SIGN

Hopefully you picked up a yard sign yesterday at church, now go ahead and put it in your yard. If you live in an apartment, you can face it out your front window. This provides an extra point of communication about our Easter services on March 27!

TUESDAY, MARCH 15 – CALL TWO PEOPLE

Make time to call two people for just two minutes each. If you are brave, scroll to the bottom of your text messages or your email inbox, see who the bottom two people listed are and give those two people a call. Whoever you decide to contact, let them know that you love and appreciate them. Now…get to it!

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16 – SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY WITH ONE PERSON

Today is the day to share your salvation story with someone! Take a deep breath, ask God to help you and simply tell someone how God has changed your life. Your efforts may not be perfect but it will be a spark that you can trust God to use. Go for it! Also, you can join us again at 5:30PM to help your Adult Bible Study saturate our city with Easter invitations!

THURSDAY, MARCH 17 – “BUILD A BRIDGE” IN A RELATIONSHIP

Warning: this is a big one. Today’s the day for each of us to build bridges with anyone we are in conflict. Whether it is a big falling out or simply a relationship that has been a bit “rocky.” Let’s go out of our way today to allow the Lord to truly work within us, as we pursue reconciliation and peace. May those of us who have been forgiven so much, extend forgiveness to others.

FRIDAY, MARCH 18 – PRAY

As we are about half way through our Easter outreach, let’s make a deliberate effort to lift our focus away from our own concerns and to allow the Holy Spirit to show us what moves the heart of God. Is God stirring your heart about the people in our city? Let’s pray for their salvation. Let’s pray for souls to be saved at our services. Let’s pray that tomorrow on Super Saturday Saturation, we’ll be able to give out thousands of Easter invites.

SATURDAY, MARCH 19 – PARTICIPATE IN SUPER SATURDAY SATURATION

Come out and join us for this awesome opportunity as hundreds of us will go out across our city to invite people to our Easter services. We will meet at 9:30AM in the gym for instructions, and then we will go out in teams across our city before returning to the gym for lunch.

SUNDAY, MARCH 20 – READ THE EASTER STORY

Today is Palm Sunday. We know that Jesus entered the city being hailed as a king, but this coronation didn’t last for long. Take time today to read John 19-20 and reflect on Jesus’ love, sacrifice, and overwhelming power over death.

MONDAY, MARCH 21 – WALK AND PRAY FOR THE STREETS

Take a walk by yourself or with your family up and down your own neighborhood street. As you walk, pray believing that those people will discover Jesus’ love this Easter. Make sure you have your Easter invite cards in your pocket in case a great opportunity arises to invite someone as you walk. Let’s pray for conversations to start all over our local communities this evening!

TUESDAY, MARCH 22 – GIVE GIFTS WITH EASTER OUTREACH CARD ATTACHED

On Sunday, we offered Easter baskets for you to pick up in the lobby so that you could be planning a gift for someone. Today is the day that, as a whole church, we are going to “gift” our city. In whatever way you are able, as many times as you are able, give gifts today with a Easter invite attached. It could be a generic gift like cookies or candy. Or more specifically, you could include diapers for a new mom or golf balls for a co-worker who plays golf. Together, let’s pray that across our city, gifts will open hearts to the message of Jesus today.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23 – FAST AND PRAY

For either one meal or for the entire day, let’s pray and fast asking God to do a miracle work of salvation on Easter Sunday. We have handed out thousands of invitations over the past weeks. However, we know that all of our human effort is in vain without the supernatural power of God on it all.

THURSDAY, MARCH 24 – BUY A COFFEE (OR TEA)

Most of us love a good espresso and there’s no better way to show love than to pay it forward for a person in the line at your local cafe! Maybe you can leave a $5 bill at the counter with an Easter invite attached, or perhaps you will need to get the barista involved in your plan – whatever it takes to show the love and share the caffeine, go out of your way to impact a life today.

FRIDAY, MARCH 25 – GOOD FRIDAY

It’s Friday… and Sunday is coming! Today, use whatever platform you have (text message, email, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, whatever!) to share the message that Jesus has OVERCOME. Be prayerful, creative and deliberate as you craft your words and images, but most importantly, be YOU! Let those who see or read your thoughts see that the Easter message is personal and life changing for you.

SATURDAY, MARCH 26 – FOLLOW UP ON THOSE YOU’VE INVITED TO EASTER

Today is the day to follow up on anyone that you’ve invited to come to our Easter Sunday services. Give them a call and make a plan to even ride together. Get out in the garden if you are hoping for a follow-up chat with your neighbor. Pray with us for nice weather, and that all of the people who have committed to attend a service will fulfill their commitment.

SUNDAY, MARCH 27 – ATTEND EASTER SERVICES

We’ve got two identical services planned for 10:30AM and 6:00PM. Plan to be at church at least twenty minutes before service starts so that you can help host our guests. We have the awesome opportunity to have people into “our house,” so make sure you’re here to help! Having two services gives you the opportunity to sit in on one service and serve the other service. From the moment our guests pull in our parking lot, let’s express our joy and appreciation that they have come. Remember, there was a time when you were a guest too.
