Three long-time Raleigh Christian Academy teachers were honored for their service at Beacon Baptist Church on Sunday night, August 12. The three teachers have a combined 119 years experience in teaching with 102 of those years spent at RCA.

Mrs. Lisa Allen retired after serving for 35 years teaching elementary and middle school. She brought a vibrant spirit and a love for learning into her classrooms. She loved her students as her own children and will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Lynda Barker is stepping down after having taught for a total of 43 years. After earlier teaching stints, Mrs. Barker relocated and began a long ministry at RCA where she has taught for 31 years. Known for her knack for making history interesting, Mrs. Barker was known to vibrantly pray for each student in her classroom.

Mrs. Carol Ramsey retires after teaching at Raleigh Christian Academy for 40 years. The majority of those years were spent teaching senior high school English. No teacher prepared students for college any better than Mrs. Ramsey. It was customary for many former students to return to campus and go straight to her classroom and thank her.

While we bid all three teachers farewell, they are to be congratulated for teaching ministries that were outstanding. Each made an eternal difference in the lives of their students. They are not easily replaced, and we will miss them in a great way!
