I love beautiful things!  I love farmhouse décor and perfect weather outside so that I can enjoy the sunshine yet have a fire in the firepit at night.  I love to dream about a beautiful life and imagine that things are just perfect! But, life is not really that way.  Being engaged is not the same as being married.  Having a baby to care for is not as magical as preparing a Pinterest perfect nursery.  Life is not always as it seems or as you dreamed it would be.

Do you feel hopeless and trapped in a situation that seems endless?  You might have said, “Lord, this is not how I planned my life to be.”  Or, you might have asked the question, “Lord, can you still use me?”  If your dreams in life have been shattered, you are the one that Isaiah 61:3 is speaking of.  God not only understands heartaches; He specializes in putting lives back together so there is a beautiful, joyful, peaceful ending filled with praise to God!

There is no problem or situation too hard for God.  He can bring good out of evil because of His wisdom.  He has the ability to turn ashes into beauty as Isaiah 61:3 states, “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.”

No situation is hopeless to God.  Your situation is not hopeless no matter what failures have taken place in your life. God is capable of making wrongs right and restoring joy and contentment in your heart.  The joy the Lord brings will show outwardly, as you inwardly become a happy and content person. Psalm 107:8, 9 says, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!  For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.”

God wants to make your life a trophy of His grace. This is only brought about by His strength and not your own.  You must be willing to do it God’s way. Ephesians 4:7 “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.”

Can I truly overcome the impossible circumstances in my life?  Can the Lord use me?  Yes, He can and He wants to.  Allow Him to turn your ashes into beauty so that He can use you to help someone else to do the same.

I love the words to this old song, Something Beautiful.

If there ever were dreams
That were lofty and noble
They were my dreams at the start
And hope for life’s best were the hopes
That I harbor down deep in my heart
But my dreams turned to ashes
And my castles all crumbled, my fortune turned to loss
So I wrapped it all in the rags of life
And laid it at the cross.

Something beautiful, something good
All my confusion He understood
All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife
But he made something beautiful of my life.

Trade your ashes for beauty so that God will make something beautiful out of your life!
