Romans 1:20 tells us that “the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” Paul explains here that there are certain “invisible things” or qualities of God that can be clearly seen by all mankind, thereby giving none of us an excuse for not giving Him glory. When we refuse to worship Him, we trivialize ourselves into confusion. When this happens, there is no sense of directionin our lives. Our sole purpose now is to glorify and edify the name of Jesus. We need to be careful to not trade the glory of the Creator,Who holds the world in His hands, for the elements of creation. To be sure, the beauty of a sunset or the beauty of a mountain gives testimony to the glory of God. But it is not an object to be worshiped itself. That’s upside-down worship. That is worshiping a man-made god instead of the God Who made man.

So today, let’s make sure our worship is right-side up. Worship the one and only Creator God, who made you and love you and gave Himself for you! He is the only hope you have. May we never fall into the trap of worshiping the things of God rather than the God Himself.
